"We All Need Peace" at the Illinois Holocaust Museum

Illustrator Ingrid Hess and I collaborated to create a body of work that helps teach the importance of peacemaking to young children. The exhibition “We All Need Peace” at the Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center was a manifestation of this goal. “Children have the power to impact our world in large and small ways,” says Vick. “Relating peace and peacemaking to positive outcomes is an age appropriate and effective way to teach children,” says Hess. “It is our hope that by encouraging dialogue with children about peace and by encouraging children to build identities as peacemakers the future will be a more peaceful place for everyone.”

This exhibit included twenty three Cut-paper collages by Ingrid Hess with accompanying text by Patti Vick. It ran from May 9, 2016–July, 2017
