Photo project is created in the art colony in the village of Gradac, Raška- south Serbia. Project is made in the village elementary school Josif Pancic in which, each year there are fewer and fewer students and at this moment only 12. School was founded one hundred and twenty years ago and remembers better times when plenty of local children were travelling from a long distance in order to attend classes. Today, this school is almost empty, due to frequent migration of the population toward the city and less young people eager to stay and live in difficult rural conditions.
I'd decided to make fictional story, where I asked the participants of the art colony to play role of imaginary events within the school. We tried to enlive the school again and to make it full of life and activities.
I imagined that the images are viewed like in some book, where chapter by chapter the viewer is drawn into the reading of content.
