The ISTD Awards is one of the most prestigious typographic design awards in the world. We chose brief 1, which was the Adrian Frutiger brief.
This brief was to be a publication, and then another 2 touch points for Vega. The touch points were to celebrate the life and work of Adrian Frutiger.
So, how could one celebrate the life and work of a famous typographer? For this brief we decided to create a publication in the form of a book design, a banner advert for design and typographic websites and a micro site where one can download his fonts for free for a month. The whole idea behind creating this publication, banner and micro site is to celebrate Adrian Frutiger’s legacy. This commemoration shows the jump from hand drawn typography to digital typographic design and how Frutiger lived through both.
