Stand Out - tropical floral pattern

Surface Design
A hot and wild tropical pattern digitally painted in full color for sublimation printing. The piece was created on commission for a sportswear and fitness brand, so a lot of people will be able to infuse their workouts with the energy of a tropical forest :)

The pattern is available for licensing in certain product categories, feel free to contact me for details. It's also available on a range of products in my RedBubble and Society 6 stores.
This is how it looks on the final product - Stronger went for a monochrome colorway to fit the mood of their autumn collection.
The original pattern was developed in a range of reds, oranges and pinks, to contrast the usual tropical colorways that tend to be dominated by greens and blues. But far from taking on the usual feminine and delicate notes of pink, the colors tug against each other to convey the raw heat of the tropics and the energy of the blooming wildlife.

This midnight colorway came out of my efforts to produce a pale, pastel version of the design. It's anything but pastel, but the almost neon-intensity of the colors sings against the deep violets, blacks, and teals of the background.
No tropical pattern is complete without the obligatory green version.
The original red colorway was deemed a bit too intense for the client's needs so I came up with this calmer, softer pink colorway. It still packs a lot of punch though.
The client wanted to try out a soft, pastel version so I came up with this.
Two cool ultra-violet colorways that give the piece a less organic and more neon vibe.
All the elements of the pattern started out as micron pen drawings, then later were scanned at high resolution, composited and painted in Adobe Photoshop.
Thanks for checking out my work :) If you want me to draw an amazing pattern for you, I'm always game. Get in touch!
