Nowadays, under the influence of fast culture, even the splendid Chinese culture over thousands of years seems to be covered up by a mass of tiresome information. People have to receive a lot every day and are losing the ability called depth perception, they don’t investigate thoroughly the nature and the process, but the result seems to become the only standard they focus on.

The speed of growth is too fast to make us hardly remember some ancient things exist in our nature. When the youngster is asked about Chinese culture, most of them including myself would say: I know this. But could barely answer questions like: How does this come from? or Why it is like this? So I continue to create new works, hope it will help me keep in mind that receiving but not thinking is meaningless, people cannot inherit culture in this way. Wish people feel the same and have a changing in mind when they see my work.
Dhruva

A lord insists on hard practices, a person who offers the direction but don’t know where himself should go. Practicing stably, but sometimes his heart is filled with confusions. Dhruva is just like the oldsters whose life are filled with vertiginous changes, they try to defend their ideals but the alternation and subduction can’t be stopped. He clears the destination for the younger generations, while nobody directs him the way, though he is a wise man.
Snake Heavenly King

He is the numen of East world, noble and majestic. I tried to find some trend colors and factors to annotate this traditional legend characteristic, in order to make him seems more fashion and easy-going, no so inhumane. I also use the classical image of Dunhuang Lute Fairy and some Steampunk factors as references, creating a brand new image of lord that embodies vitality and energy. In my heart, he should be like that under the new era.
Apsaras

The prototype of this painting comes from a classic Dunhuang mural painting named Flying Apsaras. Influenced by Pop Art and Dadaism Thought, I wish I could create works that can demonstrate sober and irrational minds simultaneously. And the series of works are the products of this desire.
In this painting, Apsaras is beheaded, the head is saying: I am gonna go first. The head which is on behalf of thoughts and the body that presents actions are out-sync, just like the younger generations, fastidious but incompetent. People are more willing to focus on surfaces, dream fantasies but without striving to make dream become realize.
Soma

Wine is important in human’s life, it can dispel the woe, make people brave and happy, youngster also regard wine as a symbol of big cities. Like wines can make people be fascinated, the fickle social atmosphere has made people become stubborn. By some means this can lead people insist on doing their own thing, but situation is going to be uncontrolled, even ethical issues are ignored by some people. It is just like the ancient Chinese proverb has said: It's not the wine that intoxicates people, but the drinker who gets himself drunk.
Prthivi

The highlight of this work is the goldfish in Prthivi’s hand. There is a word said that gold fish has quite short memory, like human beings, most of us only concentrate on the apparent things; under the fast consumption time, all we have chased are fleeting. Prthivi is the Mother God of life and earth, she presents nature, human is just like the goldfish in her hand, we destroy the environment and worry about the unchangeable affection, all we need to worried is ourselves but not earth. Because we are vulnerable without fish tank, the protection from nature. We are too insignificant to make she even open her eyes to notice us.
