Apophenia in digital painting
Apophenia in digital painting
Random textures provide the basic material of hoploid artworks – they inspire the brain to create fantastic animals, weird creatures and surreal scenes. It´s like seeing faces in the clouds - we all remember doing that as a kid. Psychologists use a term for the ability to find meaning even in chaotic structures, relations in absolutely unrelated events – "the seemingly hidden truth behind things" and they call it "apophenia".
While the analogue artworks in my portfolio are usually based on coffee, tea, juice and paint splotches, the technique itself seems suitable for any kind of medium ... even digital painting.
