A project with humble beginnings as a classroom project, “Connecting the Dots” flourished into an award-winning campaign. Making the cut after rounds of rigorous evaluation, the campaign made its way into the hearts of the Pasadena Transit Authority and onto the streets of Pasadena.
“Connecting the dots” is the big picture behind the high-visibility Pasadena Transit brand. A clear and colorful communication campaign, it not only assists riders who must travel from Point A to Point B; more importantly, it inspires citizens and tourists alike to expand their horizons, creating new journeys and discovering more about Pasadena with every trip, all through the simplicity of navigation.
The program developed for the brand features easy-to-understand icons, each one representing a great architectural Pasadena landmark. Currently, these landmarks include the Colorado Street Bridge, ArtCenter College of Design, Pasadena Convention Center and the national historical landmark Pasadena City Hall. The icons and accompanying graphics communicate and inspire riders on the bus, and off. In addition, the program continues to provide opportunities in identity, map and signage.
