The concept for this project started with some inital work in 3DS Max. I thought a simple 3D shape would be a good vehicle for typography. With some adjust of the camera, I rendered this image of a spring below.

In Illustrator, type was set over the spring in a fluid manner.

I thought about which capoeira movements might work best with the typography. I wanted to reflect that defence/attack nature of the game and that capoeira is played in pairs. Light linework gives focus to the type.
