EDDIES CUT-THROAT BARBERS

DESIGN BRIEF
A family-run barber shop in the East End of London is looking to rebrand. The barber shop is called ‘Eddie’s Cut-Throat Barbers’, and it has been run by the same family for the last 100 years. Their heritage is their USP. The shop has been handed down from generation to generation. The client likes a traditional, British-themed logo. Ideally, they would like the logo to be made from hand-drawn or custom lettering, to set them apart from their competitors; they want to feel unique.
SOLUTION
I created a custom-lettering and bold logo which meets the client's requirements, however I also incorporated a hidden scissor icon within the logotype.  This execution creates a more memorable experience for the customer when they spot the hidden scissor therefore making the logo feel much more unique.  The chosen font is very bold and industrial, which reflects how the business has been handed down from generation to generation, maintaining its history whilst also meeting the changes and demands of the modern world.
