Branding and Strategy: RVA Rapid Transit


RVA Rapid Transit Branding

RVA Rapid Transit is a local grassroots nonprofit focused on reshaping public transportation in the Metro Richmond area. As part of an intern team at RVA Rapid Transit, I sought to achieve three goals:

      1 - To interview local businesses to find a correlation, if any, between an improved public transportation and overall business and hiring in the area. 
      2 - To bring the stories of the inequities in public transportation across our city right to our campus. 
      3 - To enact a strategy to engage our University leadership to endorse the RVA Rapid Transit movement towards fixing Richmond’s transit. 

I personally wanted to contribute my design skills and expand this basic awareness-and-action campaign  beyond my posters and petitions. I signed our team up for the internationally renowned Richmond Streets Art Festival to include a more Millennial driven approach through public art. We donned our RVA Rapid Transit “Ready to Ride” shirts and while some of us on the team were painting, others were handing out flyers, interviewing, and answering questions about public transit in Richmond.
