Wall Illustrations and Animations for Motel One
Cologne Mediapark
The »Cologne Carnival« was the topic of choice for the large murals. They’re located in the bar and the breakfast area. The colors are picked from the CD of Motel One, plus a little red from the lighting object »Comic Explosion« by Ingo Mauerer,
which is located in the adjacent lobby.
The vector graphics were printed on wallpaper and wood panels with a waterproof coating. So you can spill your orange juice all over it – no one will be angry with you.

Animation Loop
Animation/Visual for Motel One Cologne Mediapark, where it loops silently on a flat screen behind the bar. It features four scenes associated with the »Cologne Carnival« (ca. 25 seconds each) which are devided by four ambient parts (60 seconds each). This allows you to enjoy your drink without becoming too distracted. Due to the schedule I decided to use rotoscoping for the first time.
