NIGHT BEFORE THE MORNING SUN

teaser for a short film currently in post-production

Inspired by an Edward Hopper painting, Night Before the Morning Sun is a short film about a woman swept into a world of her own creation, a suspended state of being in between past and future, dream and memory, reality and fantasy; in the words of Goethe - the world around her and the world that is in her. She follows her subconscious to a Pop Art desert, her childhood playroom, and a vibrant café on the lonely city street she walked earlier that day, as she chases after her book of dreams. Ultimately she takes possession of the book by doing viscerally what could not be done intellectually, and succeeds in breaking free of the painting she’d been trapped in all along.
