The Shuttle concept revolved around the narrative of"seeding" a new planet with life. The mother ship design was basedupon a seed pod containing hundreds of shuttles(seeds). Each one of theseshuttles carried a crew named on the blast door that protected them until thetime came to be released. Rather than relying on wings or other such outdatedmethods of producing lift, the shuttles carried anti gravity engines thatresembles stubby arms or claws nestled in recesses in the ships front hull. Theroof of the shuttles also doubles as an observation deck so that crew memberscan get the best view possible of their new surroundings before venturing outinto the wild.
Initial sketches and concepts are developed into digital 3D models that can be posed in scenes and story board sequences, such as the above showing the suttle leaving its container, the blast door ejected with the crew members names engraved on it as it decends into the abyiss of open space behind the mother ship.
