A continuous downpour starting in April has left the entire city of Houston and its surrounding areas in shock. It is now June and the rain has not stopped. 240 billion gallons of water have fallen in Houston, enough to fuel Niagara falls for 88 hours. This tragedy has taken the lives of 6 and has displaced thousands. At least 1,000 homes were flooded and thousands were left without power. Many escaped with only the clothes on their backs. My name is Catherine DeLaune and I am an artist but above that I am someone who truly cares for the well being of others. One of my top priorities in life is to support those in need. Though I am I am not a doctor nor firefighter, I do have the same heart. I have taken my artistic talents and created pieces that represent the freedom to come for these flood victims. This is where you come in. Each piece of jewelry will benefit those in need. Proceeds will go directly to the red cross with only a small portion off setting the cost of materials. Each unique feather is crafted by hand and represents the hope to come for those devastated by the floods. these pieces can be worn in a variety of ways and are adjustable for ease.
