A series of drawings exploring the initial phases of gentrification and transformation of landscape in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
I lived in Williamsburg, Brooklyn from 1997-2003, then kept a studio there from 2005-2007. During that time, the neighborhood was rezoned and the entire landscape began to change very rapidly. Soon after, I moved to Bedford Stuyvesant and watched as eminent domain forced a major change in downtown Brooklyn. This series of drawings explore the initial phase of transformation in both neighborhoods.
