How I Spent My Summer!

Career Goals Planned & Unexpected Genres

Just 7 months after graduating from The Art Institute of Pittsburgh Online Division, and only 1 month after walking with the Winter/Spring graduating class at AI in Orange County, California, I have an awesome freelance opportunity! Combining two of my passions!

I have been invited by VIDA to design my own collection line utilizing my digital photography. Earlier this month the firm asked me to join their company.

This is my back story. At 9 years of age I learned to sew and design my own clothes. I wanted to be a fashion designer. I was voted best dressed in High School. At 14 years of age photography discovered me! It captured my heart and soul. I put fashion aside while I pursued traditional film and digital photography. I started as a landscape photographer. My international awards are for my landscapes. Realistically I was planning to do weddings and portraiture. One day when I had more time I would photograph my landscapes.

Spending 3 months updating my resume to a professional creative look took all of my energy. Earlier this month a dream of mine came true when VIDA asked me to design my own collection. Combining two passions into one medium is very exciting! I am so blessed and enjoying this creative journey.

Bird Song

Photographic design created from composites of two of my images, adding texture and color to enhance my vision. This image was originally a solarized silhouette of a small bird on a bare tree branch. I added another image of flowers for the texture and added the jewel toned colors.

Street Lights

Photographic design created from composites of two of my images, one was the night lights of traffic from the hills, and then I added a steel grate texture, added some sparkle and altered the color of the lights to enhance my vision.

Shades of Summer

Aliso Viejo

This image was a beautiful sunset taken at Laguna Beach, California. I added a second composite of clouds to add texture to the sky and added island texture to the horizon.
