Project Soane is a competition for the artistic 3d reconstruction of the building in the style of classicism,  the style  the Bank of England was built in at the end of the 18th century by the architect Sir John Soane. This work has made him the most famous architect in London. The building occupied a space of almost two hectares and was surrounded by a hollow outer wall. The sunlight got inside only through the upper skylights. Therefore, one of the criteria for the competition was to show the natural play of light inside the building.

As a reference for the competition we were given a simplified 3D model of the building. We were to choose from different forms to submit the projects in: static visualization, real-time or video of several main viewpoints - interior and exterior. The jury assessed not only the competition work’s artistry, but also the historical accuracy.

As the main view point, I chose the main room with a dome. I filled the interior with details – from the stucco up to statues, focusing on old photos, drawings and archival prints. To understand the structure and the environment of the Bank's buildings better, I even played the Assassin’s Creed, where the 19th-century London is restored, including the Bank's building.

I decided to nominate my works for static visualizations and video also. I wanted to make one of the static views with an unusual look - to present the use of the historic interior for a modern art exhibition or a performance. I did a lot of sketches with the underwater world, jungle, glass shapes, skeletons and ghosts. As a result, I chose the hills with red poppies, an artificial mirrored river and a cloud in the Bank's room.
