The project Pimp My Mary born from the need to communicate a strong disagreement and separation from commercialization of the icon itself. Spirituality, by definition detachment from everything which is material and earthly,today has become consumism: the Madonna who, like soldiers, stand in rows on shelves retailers recalling cans in vending machines that are served, consumed and maybe collected. For many people is more important to have a created icon built up directly from ourself reather than belive in what the image should truly rapresent, it follows the need for others to look for their sense of belonging to anything rather than trying to live ourselves: is the surrender to the society rather than become aware of our existence.
