on a chronicle of Leonardo Faccio
These images were made to illustrate a long chronicle writen by Leonardo Faccio for Etiqueta Negra, probably the best magazine of new journalizm in spanish language.
They illustrate the strange story of a Dominican worker for international cooperation that had decided to take bats, gloves, balls and everything that is needed to play a baseball game in the Sahara desert. On its way, it tells us the story of Saharawi people, describes the refugee camps and stops to analyze their relationship with the international humanitarian aid. A text full of wind and sand, which conveys the enormity of the desert, the paradoxes of international cooperation and the solitude of a people who expect things to change under the desert sun.
