I am inspired by the core teaching of Buddhism, the Prajna Paramita Heart Sutra:

“Form is no other than Emptiness, Emptiness no other than Form
Form is exactly Emptiness, Emptiness exactly Form
Sensation, Conception, discrimination, awareness are likewise like this”.
 
Emptiness in this Sutra does not mean Nothing. It instead indicates an ultimate point of view beyond our inherent perception of the world, that point of view being the constant flux and interrelatedness of reality. We can not separate ourselves from this reality. Every angle at which you view the sculpture reveals a different interior composition, including different shapes, different contours, and sometimes moire. It reveals that perception is not perfect, but rather everything is constantly changing and interconnected. It invites us to go beyond the illusions of our perceptions.
