Arctic light
The special arctic light on the Lofoten islands in Norway inspired Johannes Bosgra to create a series of images which capture the subtle colors and atmosphere in this expressive polar landscape. “I aimed to capture the soft arctic light in the sea and air, to balance out the hardness of the mountains and fjords. The result is a series of images with a sophisticated tonal composition”.
Arctisch licht
Het bijzondere licht op de Lofoten in Noorwegen inspireerde landschapsfotograaf Johannes Bosgra begin 2016 tot het vastleggen van dit expressieve poollandschap. “Ik ben op zoek gegaan naar het vangen van het juiste, zachte arctische licht. De subtiele kleuren en atmosfeer die dat opleveren in de zee en lucht, vormen een goed tegenwicht tegen de hardheid van de steile bergen en fjorden. De balans tussen zacht en hard brengt harmonie en verfijning in de beelden van dit desolate poollandschap. De Noorse schilder Harald Sohlberg heeft dat arctische licht 100 jaar geleden ook gevangen in zijn prachtige landschapsschilderijen. Die mij, sinds ik ze in 2013 in de Nasjonalgalleriet in Oslo zag, niet meer hebben losgelaten”.
