Designing the DBullock Photography Logo
The progression of an idea.
Initially, the client wanted something quick, so I came up with a quick easy design. I knew I wanted to play with the lower case 'd', 'b', and 'p' because of the similar shape. CMYK was something I wanted to carry out as well in the logo.
After the initial reaction, I noticed the client was wanting something a bit more than what I had initially come up with. After a more detailed brief I began sketching out ideas.
With another sitdown with the client, he was able to show me what it was he had in mind. He wanted a modern, abstract and colourful design. Something to portray "Professional and Fun".
I began to persue other shapes as per the sketches. A shape was born that he was pleased with.
I wasn't entirely pleased with this. It looked too mechanical and like a bad engineering firm logo... but it was a thought that spurred on this initial image, which was rough, but just to get an idea of what it would look like...
And thus the below was born. Client was happy. I was happy. The End.
