Roly-Pully Toy Design
This toy design was done for my Development of Product Form class. Throughout my research, I discovered the need for infant's toys to be anti-choke, and that small children's deaths from suffocation has risen by 35% in the past 10 years. This is an unnecessary rise, and was going to be a main focus of this design. The choice to use a roly-poly came from my childhood love of the bugs, as well as their ability to transform. I translated this to allow the toy to transform from one use to a second. If a child isn't old enough to walk, or gets tired, the toy can be rolled around like a ball while the child is stationary. The cord is anti-choke because the links hit one another so they won't close small enough to strangle a child.
