I was assigned to make a 3-phase attack cycle that included an idle animation, an attack, and a jump. I put these all together in ways that expressed my own ideas and the outcome was nothing short of cinematic.
Attack Cycle
Here is the end result of a very elaborate attack cycle. I blocked out how I wanted it to be: a one-two slash, into a spinning slash, into a back flip back to start; and I saw it through. I learned a lot about techniques to normalize curves in the graph editor of Maya as well as tricks on how to zero out extreme translations on joints.
