Metropolis is a celebration of modern classical music based around the theme of urban life, landscapes and the impact they have on the surrounding music.
The key image for 2013 was developed by taking a soundwave of one of the key pieces of music from curator Thomas Adés and creating a unique, 3d-printed ‘soundscape’. Part sculptural, part graphic, it was a literal and beautiful representation of the music and themes on offer during the festival.
