The goal of this project is to provide an affordable and easy-to-use product that will close a gap in current learning practices that allow young children with motor disabilities to get behind in reading and writing, thus allowing them to perform more efficiently later in life. Read Less

The main goal for this project was to design a writing tool aimed to assist children with motor disabilities, in academic environments - mainly those who have motor dyspraxia. The goals of this project are to provide a solution for the learning gap that is prevalent in these children who do not receive the same educational benefit from traditional reading and writing exercises as their unaffected peers.
 
Our focus was on Motor Dyspraxia, which currently affects 10% of the population. Motor Dyspraxia is a genetic disorder where the individual lacks fine motor skills. Extensive research was performed prior to and during the design process. The result is an ergonomic grip which reflects the research we gathered and encompasses our initial aim for the final design.
