This is a self-initiated project which I started recently on Instagram. I had been on a trip to Sikkim and it has been a roller coaster ride. The idea here was to restore the memories through pictures we clicked along with the experiences we had.

My memories from this place
1. Failed attempt at seeing the sunrise.
2. Staying at some shady hotel.
3. Our driver and drive from Pelling to Darjeeling. (His name was Pappu. He entertained us the whole time with his shayaris, stories and humour.God bless that driver, he managed to find us place orelse we would have to sleep on roads, very grateful to him)

Mount Kanchenjunga(mountains with sun sparkling on them) is the third highest mountain in the world and the highest peak of India. It is a part of the Himalayan mountain range and is located in the India-Nepal border. The mountain stands at an altitude of 8586 mtrs.#pondrapondrapocheesh #kanchenjunga#pelling #sikkim #missedsunrise#brushpenlettering
Pelling was our second destination.
After a series of argument with the manager and our agent, we finally decided to manage the trip by our own.

We did find a decent place to stay.

Pelling is a town towards West Sikkim, highly dense population.

We stumbled upon a helipad which was at a walking distance from our hotel and apparently it's the best spot to enjoy the sunrise and magnificent view of Kanchenjunga mountains
My kumbhkaran quality of sleeping led me to miss the sunrise and my lovely friends were too careful to not wake me up. Fucktards. Although I missed the sunrise, I have my best memory.

I met these kids at the helipad So enthusiastic and jolly. They showed me around their school on the opposite side of the mountain. They also taught me a little Nepali !💗

Throwback at this oddly satisfying waterfall at Gangtok. #pondrapondrapocheesh #banjhakrifalls#sikkim #gangtok
Lakit was one of the sweetest people we met in Sikkim. She was sweet and a joyous pretty little girl. We met her at a food halt while we were going uphill to see Rumtek Monastery. She served us chai and Maggie with a very sweet smile. We noticed she was not wearing extra clothing in such a cold place. We asked her and she showed us a little injured bird covered with a warm cloth. She used her sweater to warm up that little bird. Kindness still exists 😀 #pondrapondrapocheesh #sikkim #lakit
We went to this flower show in Gangtok, out of everything else, this flower amazed me the most. Doesn't it look like it has two big ears with small eyes in the middle and a big pelican beak?
Paphiopedilum is an orchid, often called as Venus Slipper. Paphiopedilum Hirsutissimum is a specie of orchid found between Assam and South China.

Tongba, also known as sochang, is the Nepal's version of beer. It's damn hot .This drink is served in a huge bamboo vessel with a bamboo straw and hot water is poured in the mixture. It's made of whole grain millet and its preserved for 6 months.#pondrapondrapocheesh #sikkim#northeastindia #tongba #sochang
Namnang is a sight seeing point at Gangtok,Sikkim
It was around 9 in the morning and I couldn't see the guy standing in front of me. There are these stone made castle type balconies at different levels. Within some few milliseconds the fog started settling down, we could see this picturesque scene and fell for it.#pondrapondrapocheesh #sikkim#namnang #naturesmagic#handlettering #brushpen
After traveling in train for 3days, not to forget the 10 hours journey where only two tickets were confirmed against 6.We somehow managed to reach Gangtok. Such a beautiful place with equally soulful people!!! 😍😍
I felt like I have entered an altogether different world. From clean roads to pleasant sky, colourful flowers to beautiful people. All of this was worth the struggle.😇

So Finally, I am going to start this project. This trip has been a roller coaster ride. Every picture we clicked had some story.
I've always wanted to drink kullad wali chai. Kolkatta is where I got lucky :p. I wish I could've carried those kullad back to Mumbai.
