7 Steps to Logo
During a conversation about design, I was asked about my process when designing a brand / logo. A process? I never thought a process was in place because I just did what I did. As I began to think more deeply about the question I was asked, I saw that I had a definitive process after all.
I quickly went through the steps one by one, thinking about what it was I did when designing a brand. Clearly, I was not reinventing the wheel with my steps but there was an obvious path in place. What I found was unique! Theories and actions learned over the years have been blended and mixed to become my own personal style — a true reflection of my personality.
My discovery needed to be mapped out through physical documentation that stated key elements to which I use in creation of a brand/logo. This act brought about self-awareness from my work and my personality and when I verbalized my process, it made me think about what I did when designing a logo. It made me question each step and forced me to establish my "why" in what I was creating. Cementing these steps and understanding their importance in the path to creating a brand/logo became crucial to me.
Having this short but useful guide, I now feel a deeper connection to the theories, lessons and standards that I have adopted over the years. I invite you to take a deeper journey into this project and explore what lessons you can learn and how it inspires you on your own path of brand/logo creation.
