Second Skin takes an intimate look at three sets of computer gamerswhose lives have been transformed by online virtual worlds. Of the 50 million players worldwide, 50 percent considerthemselves addicted. In March 2008, Second Skin premiered opening night of SXSW and landed extensivecoverage in Newsweek, NPR, Wired, BBC, The Dr. Phil Show, Boston Globe,Variety and dozens of other major media outlets. Second Skin was alsovoted the #4 Documentary of 2008 by internet juggernaut Ain’t It CoolNews, and was one of Film School Rejects' Best Movies of the Decade.
Second Skin had a limited theatrical release in ten cities across the US in August '09 and was soon released on DVD internationally. It was also Hulu's most popular movie of August '09.
