"Historia generis humani" is a project that was born from the study of some of the most important cultures in the world.
The image features different kind of housing and architectures,from stilts to skyscrapers.
Everything is on the same island,the different cultures live together and are connected with each other.
The foreground is a cave,the very first humans' shelter.
Details:
For the initial sketch I used mostly the same photos as the final image in order to understand the space that they occupied and the lighting/perspective
This is the sky mattepaint,it's been made in a separate PSD in order to keep the file quite small
The following images show the process I followed in order to create the mountains and structures
