The Pixar Theory - Folha de São Paulo

Work done for brazilian newspaper "Folha de São Paulo", during the brazilian release of Pixar's latest movie at the time, "Inside Out".
The story offered an illustrated overview about Jon Negroni's online viral theory, played with the concept that Boo from "Monsters, Inc." was the link between all movies, and also questioned how the latest movie would fit into it - despite it's being true or not.

Rough & composition

Here you can see the roughs from the graphic composition & illustration. I decided to make Boo drawing with pencils and crayons over piles of paper, so I had room to play with style. I decided to make the illustrations with real colored pencils and crayons, and also tried to emulate a child drawing style - which I realized is far more difficult than I thought!

Extras

Some pieces that didn't get into the final illustration - a version of "Finding Nemo" that I felt was too accurate and needed to be a bit more "childish", my first version of "Up", which had only Dug the dog, and one extra illustration of "Inside Out" - which I already knew that wouldn't get into the final piece, but decided to do, just for fun :)

This was an amazing job to do. After all, we all love Pixar, right? :)
