»Aus der Wüste« — Out of the Desert, is a photojournalistic project by Marcus Simaitis.
ln fact, the case is evident: For more than forty years Morocco has already illegitimately occupied the Western Sahara. About 165.000 Sahrawi people, the native population of the Western Sahara, have lived in exile in Algerian refugee camps for three decades - separated from their families and their homeland by a 2500 km-sand wall in the desert that was built by Morocco and is secured by mines and soldiers. The book inhabits over 200 pages, a plain but brutal cover and a structured typography.

Eigentlich ist schon alles klar, denn seit 40 Jahren hat Marokko die Westsahara illegal besetzt. Getrennt von ihren Familien und ihrer Heimat leben 165.000 Sharawi, die Einheimiscgen der Westsahara, im Exil in Algerien und das nun schon 3 Jahrzehnte. Von einem 2500km langem Minenwall werden sie daran gehindert zurückzukehren. Das Buch zum Konflikt ist über 200 Seiten schwer und fällt vorallem durch sein aussagekräftiges Cover und die strukturierte Typografie auf.
