Laldy zine
Graphic design, typography, photography
This brief was to create a new art and design zine to showcase the work of up and coming artists and designers in the Glasgow area.

My design was inspired by Glasgow's heritage and uses lines taken from drawings of the Finnieston Crane to create a tartan-like pattern which forms the masthead. This theme is continued in the imagery with traditional tenement buildings, which also inspire the floorplan look of the contents page and tiled pattern reminiscent of wally tiles in tenement closes.

Local dialect is used for the zine's title Laldy and continued through the publication.

A collage of found images, sketches and my own photography makes up the front and back covers. The pages are printed on brown sugar paper to provide texture and mimic the home produced style of the traditional zine.
