Hell's Canyon dam is the third dam in a series of dams along the Snake river on the Oregon, Idaho state border.  The first dam is called Brownlee and it forms a wide lake situated among beautiful rolling hills.  The second dam is called Oxbow dam and it narrows considerably, forming a near stagnant body of water.  Hells Canyon dam is situated at the beginning of Hell's Canyon.  The lake that forms behind the dam is quite beautiful as it is situated among a narrowing canyon with striking cliffs and deep blue water.  This series focuses on Hell's Dam and the Snake that flows beyond the dam into the canyon of Hell.
