The Huxtaburger Book
Our second book design for author Daniel Wilson and Hardie Grant Publishers — 'The Huxtaburger Book: The Art and Science of the Perfect Burger' — links to his much loved Huxtaburger chain, which serves American style burgers and comfort food across Melbourne. We adopted a tongue-in-cheek tone by creating a scientific laboratory theme with 1980s style sweaters (referencing the Huxtables in The Cosby Show) poking out from under white lab coated hands throughout the book. We custom drew the chapter pages featuring fun diagramatical style imagery reminiscent of school textbooks. The front cover features a paper pop up of the anatomy of a burger. The book is a follow up to Daniel's first 'Huxtabook'.
Every image in the book was sketched before being photographed.
