100 Ways to Save Your Ass in English
Book by Buffi Duberman
Holland's best English coach Buffi Duberman is on a mission: to save everyone's ass in English (specifically the ones who don't use English as their native language). Previously she released a book with 30 ways to save the Dutchies from embarassment when it comes to the English vocabulary. I designed the cover of that book. But this time she asked me to save her butt by designing the whole book, front to back, which also had to appeal to the business market. Another great collaboration with this fun and ever so enthusiastic teacher that I get to call 'my friend'.
The creation of this book was done with the great and kind help of crowdfunding. Being engaged with a lot of refugees in Holland (she once was a stranger in Holland herself when she moved to Holland from New York, USA years ago), Buffi decided to give a 100 books to 100 refugees when she would reach 100% with crowdfunding. In the end she reached a whopping 156%. Which meant 156 book for 156 refugees. She's the best. And so is her book

Two colors inside the cover to give it some extra 'Wow!'
I used a fine combination of the fonts Futura, Bebas Neue, Eastside Texture and Andada for this. One of the fun moments when designing a book; finding the right typography. I actually mentioned the fonts in the colophon which is something I like to know when I pick up a book.

Being the best English coach means you get to work with the best, including some celebrities. Buffi works a lot with people in the entertainment industry. I met Buffi when I was working on my book about songwriting; she's one of the lucky few that get to read and hear new songs of some great songwriters. How cool is that?!
