Description
This piece was created for Advanced Typographics. My concept for this piece is ‘path to inner reflection’. I chose the snake fold to represent the concept. As the piece opens up, the inside is balanced and justified, while the backside is transitional and more active. This works two ways; first, the balanced side is continually larger then the active side, and second, the balanced side is like a path to the back which, when viewed in it’s entirety, has a peaceful, rippled effect. The typeface is Bembo, which was chosen because as a humanist serif with a small x-height, it gives the sense of intimacy. It was also chosen for the ease of reading long passages of text.
