He'll Find His Way, involves abstracted portraiture--as demonstrated in Process--via the woven reed structure, created to mimick the textural apperarance of deck furniture. In this piece, as well as others this semester, I focused on domesticity, masculinity, femininity, and queerness by mixing processes that are (for whatever reason) traditionally male dominated (i.e. construction/building), and traditionally female dominated (i.e.fibers techniques such as basketweaving). The title, He'll Find His Way should ultimately live in a world of quotations, as it is suggestive of the dreaded word "phase."
