Interior installation design concept for Victoria University's architecture programme.

Concept art for an interactive interior space design challenge. The physical space consists of a bridge platform across a shallow pool with a hanging lighting installation. The lighting installation was inspired by the kodama tree spirits in the Studio Ghibli film Princess Mononoke and the idea of balance that must be maintained for the forest’s spirits to survive. The lights audibly hum and increase in brightness based on proximity, movement and noise in the space. If the human input to the space overwhelms the lighting sensors, the lights all drop into the water and move back to the ceiling with a current and magnetic pulley system, and the cycle begins anew.
