This zine brings together the work of emerging illustrators from Valencia and generous contributions by renowned national professionals. Each issue challenges these creatives with a quote and a series of mandatory visual elements as a brief, resulting in an interesting combination of 'constrained freedom'.
Issue #2 was themed around Bertolt Brecht's quote 'History loves paradoxes'. The design of the back cover poses this statement by suggesting a visual paradox. A concealed typographic composition encourages readers to look closer or step back in order to decipher the message, which is not shown anywhere else in the zine. This simple and effective solution contributes to the overall mood of the issue, without visually interfering with the illustration work.
