Inspired by an afternoon spent reading under a group of trees. Thislighting
concept is composed of variously sized panels suspended fromthe wall or
ceiling similarly to a Calder mobile. The lightweightpanels move with air currents,
redistributing and changing thecharacter of the light much like the leaves of
those trees. I imaginethis idea working in many scales. An intimate restaurant
where thelight shifts slowly, a club where the energy of the patrons directly
influences their environment, or a large public space. Eventually Iimagine OLED
technology to provide the opportunity for a more dynamicexperience through the
addition of colorfully lit panels, which opensthe door to images and video on the
dynamic, undulating surfaces.
