Branding the City of Raleigh
INTRODUCTION
 
The city of Raleigh, North Carolina is an upwardly trending city of the American South with a storied past and strong tradition. Raleigh's past is hit with associations of racism and genocide, but now is becoming a booming scientific, business and intellectual center that more and more youths migrate to each year. This prospected brand for the city aims to adjust a traditional atmosphere to Raleigh's bright, youthful future.  
 
The brand proposes the use of two logos: one for locational purposes, to be used on maps and signage (left), and the other more for marketing and official use. 
 
PROBLEMS & SOLUTIONS
 
With three different colleges in one city, there's a lot of different interfereing branding and symbols that could easily confuse a new, navigating student. This brand unifies different locational parts of the city with a unified symbol system.
 
With the separate and second logo, the brand merges a new scientific style with traditional styles seen in the area. This appeals to both the growing youth population and the older, local inhabitants of the city.
