In stead of taking a traditional 'emblem' approach, I have decided to take a more playful approach.
The V sign is a sign of victory, also symbolic to Japan as we do this when taking a picture.
Victory for the athletes, 'peace' for the world and with a little bit of 'Japaneseness'.

The fist is for unity, strength and solidarity.
The hand is a 'silhouette' and it is not particularly feminine nor masculine, represents equality and diversity.

For the Paralympic, I have used two V signs.
This represents that no matter the disability, we are all equal and as strong as everybody else.
It is a double victory, because it is not only for themselves but often they have really good support team or a person, who provide them with great amount of support, it is a victory for everyone, and we should celebrate!!!
