56th October Salon – Installation ICEBERG, Belgrade, Serbia

Having considered the 56th October Salon theme and concept, we wanted to explore the very nature of emotion rather than a specific emotion. The volatile quality of an emotion, its dependence on personal perception as well as its transition from being naive to being quintessential, presented the foundation of our research.
We believe that change, being one of the key characteristics of a life cycle, is the main conditioning aspect of the fragility of human existence. Emotional changes with respect to things condition the change in demand result in re-examining their own essence. An emotion, a strong impulse to all these changes, is preceded by a sensuous experience, which is the starting point of our work. By playing with sensuous experiences, we wish to lead the audience through different emotions and stir changes in the perception of represented reality. With this action, we wish to show that emotions are prone to manipulation and change by means of acting upon senses. Reflecting upon different pleasures of love, fear, lust, happiness and their sources of incitement, we realized there is a fine line between different states, when it comes to emotional experiences, whether they be banal or deep.
