Self-Branding 2016

This was part of the final project for my Business of Design module. In this brief, we were told to create a personal identity alongside with a promotional item that speaks your personal aesthetic and personality.
For my brandmark, I’ve adapted elements of an asian design to reflect my race of being a Chinese. This brand mark was developed by using objects to create the word Yi which represents the first character of my chinese name and pronounced as the first letter of my english. The rounded corners and imperfect edges of this brand mark is supposed to emphasise on my casual personality as well as put relation to the shape of a sun – my last name.
My brandmark is being individually stamped on to add sincerity for whoever the receiver may be.
My CV includes illustration that can be found on my namecard to create a consistency. Also, to create a friendly and light hearted first impression, I've added a humor element to it!
Another part of this project was to come up with a promotional item to be given out during interviews and as a true representation of yourself. The concept behind my self-promotional item lies in the belief that our childhood plays an important part in shaping who we become and who we truly are.  All my promotional items were things that I used to really love when I was a kid, and all that goodness is being contained in a capsule ball to give an element of surprise.
This handwritten letter basically sums up with concept of my promotional item and includes the little elements that are inside this capsule ball, how are they individually important to me and how to use them. It should be the first thing they see once open!
Being an avid sticker collector in the past, I've self-illustrated a series of encouragement stickers to keep your day going!
A really classic game during Primary School — Paper fortune teller. This is an interactive element for any future employees, in this fortune teller they will be choosing hobbies and character that I happen to have, and the final fortune would always be to hire me!
I grew up writing a diary, and I've created a mini diary (hand-stitched and self binded) that documents the journey of chasing my dreams. In this mini diary, you can find works that I've done and my thought process.
So this is me, and nice to meet you!
