Logo Designing
The logo was designed for a Youth Association formed under the group of Jacobite Syrian Churches in Bangalore- Jacobite Syrian Church Youth(JSCY).
The fish as a symbol in Christianity is nearly as old as the Christian faith itself.
The Greek word for fish is "ichthys." Christians made an acrostic from this word: Iesous Christos Theou Yios Soter, i.e. Jesus Christ, Son of God, Savior. So Fish symbol was to symbolize children of God.
This was very much discussed and considered in the Jacobite Syrian Community of India and that made me to design a logo that relates to a fish.
As the name of their youth association was named Jacobite Syrian Church Youth, I thought of designing a Calligram with the first letters of this name and hence this logo.
The colors Purple symbolizes church and Orange denotes Youthfulness.
