When Aiwa became a subsidiary of Sony Corporation, the consumer electronics brand repositioned itself to create stylish, simple and innovative audio-video products for youth market. The renewed Aiwa brand included a new logo and a new web site, Aiwaworld, a youth-targeted portal centered on audiovisual experiences. Hello Design, in partnership with Wieden + Kennedy, The_Groop, and Oceanmonsters, designed and developped Aiwa TV, the main portion of Aiwaworld, to serve up audiovisual "hybrid music" experiences. A unique container within Aiwaworld, AiwaTV functions like a network station serving up original programming from creators such as Tokyoplastic, Mumbleboy, and Oceanmonsters. We built AiwaTV using a parallax engine to create a 3D experience where users zoom in and out to explore the topsy-turvy world and discover programming, which could be found in a flying aiwamal or floating bubble. AiwaTV not only complements existing Aiwaworld content, but it also provides an engaging experience that speaks to youth audiences, creating a new unique brand impression for Aiwa.
