Circluar Cabinet
Jiggs and Laminations
For this project I was learning how to design and build a project that included bent laminations, jigs and a design that must have three key elements: Circular, triangular and square. This project was also to be classified as a man-made artefact. I designed this project around a collection of ancient pots my grandfather collected.

This cabinet is a cylindrical shape that projects off the wall which reflect on the project brief and reflecting the general from of the pots; it has a cross section shelf that sit inside it. It is comprised of four semicircle laminates made out of European beech, between these now circular laminations  is a Tasmanian Myrtle bending ply. The square element is reflected in the half lap join of the the cross section shelf, and the triangle ( i cheated) is reflected at the taper of the screws you can't see.

Mounted in place with 4 brass picture hooks
Lit at night across the front of the cabinet - directional downlights
Current collection of ancient cermaics installed in the cabinet
