"Clay Figures 2006 - 2007" Redux

Clay Figures
2006-2007
These are one inch clay figures I hand made, during my freshmann year of college. All of the figures were made out of Sculpey modeling clay. The tools are either typical clay sculpting tools or items I find around the house.

If you see some figures with a glossy like finish, that's a glaze I used called Mod Podge. My Grandmother introduced me to this product because not only does it have a nice glass like finish, but it's good at protecting the figures with a soft plastic like covering.
Just a handful of the figurines I made at the time.

EDIT: Being that this post is very old, with a poor digital camera, I tried to do a higher resolution update.

Jack and the Beanstalk.

This was tricky, not just because Jack (carrying a golden goose) is smaller than a dime, but the Giant would weigh down the bean stalk, while baking. There was trial and error of many metal rods it took to keep the beanstalk propped up, on the inside.
I was bored one night and made a clay Cockroach to freak out my room mates. I placed him in the kitchen and heard the satisfying scream at 2am.

Webber Pond

This was a High School project that won me Best of Show in the art fair at the school. This is basically a village of hamsters, chipmunks, and moles living together.

The three hamsters shown in the picture is a nod to My Neighbor Totoro. The three characters being Satsuki, Mei, and thier father.
