19 WINDOWS
Identity for an East Hills Business Association event
Planning, organization, graphic design, event naming, promotional copy.
19 Windows is a semi-annual event to promote the East Hills Business District in Grand Rapids, Michigan. The event pairs artists with district businesses to design original window displays. The windows are installed for one week, and judged by the public, and a panel of design and art professionals from the community. Public voting and viewing last the full week. Judges vote on the final day of the event. The event ends with street party, musical performances and cash prizes awarded by a local celebrity.

Posters were placed around the city in locally owned businesses, colleges, art venues, and libraries. Facebook was used to promote the event. A web site and hard copy forms were used to sign up artists, and keep them updated. Graphics were designed to be read from a distance, and close up, and function on event day as signage and way-finding.
